About The Role

As a Bookkeeping Associate you will be responsible for delivering a great client experience that results in strong and lasting client relationships. To succeed in this role you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Providing timely responses to client questions and manages client expectations
  • Maintaining, monitoring and reconciling General Ledger accounts
  • Reconciliation of bank balances and credit card transactions as needed
  • Processing of sales and purchase invoices
  • Recording ad hoc adjusting entries on a regular basis
  • Identifying issues and errors, investigating discrepancies, and supporting in resolutions
  • Sales tax recording and filings
  • Preparing the month end in a timely manner
  • Providing coverage for colleagues as needed
  • Contributing to innovation, which may include initiating process improvement, documenting new or updated procedures, developing standardized templates and collaborating with the larger team on such initiatives.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR*

  • Accounting/business diploma/certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Experience at a Canadian accounting firm would be an asset
  • You’re skilled in learning new accounting programs and systems
  • You have strong organizational skills and an ability to multi-task competing priorities
  • You have a passion for excellent client services
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others towards a common goal
