About This Role

The Accounting Manager is a proactive, detail-driven, experienced accounting professional who takes the lead in shaping and optimizing our accounting operations. In this high-impact role, this individual will oversee core accounting functions, drive process improvements, and collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders, all while ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in a fast-paced, growth-oriented SaaS environment.

Requirements

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Prepare and consolidate financial reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
  • Manage payroll processing, payroll taxes, and benefits reconciliation in coordination with HR
  • Collaborate with the Contracts and Billing teams to streamline and enhance the order-to-cash and contract renewal processes
  • Apply SaaS-specific accounting principles including revenue recognition (ASC 606), CECL, and capitalization of software development costs
  • Conduct periodic audits and maintenance of customer and vendor accounts
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts as needed
  • Perform ad hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned by executive leadership
  • Travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or training sessions (estimated

  • Ability to work both autonomously as well as within a team in a remote work environment
  • As a requirement, all candidates must be physically based in the United States and able to legally work for any employer

  • Required And Desired Skills

    • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is strongly preferred.
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required with at least 2 years in a leadership role strongly preferred
    • Experience working in a SaaS or Tech company (GovTech, FinTech, HealthTech, EduTech, etc.) strongly preferred
    • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
    • Strong competency with the Microsoft Office suite including advanced MS Excel skills
    • Advance knowledge of QuickBooks and NetSuite (or comparable ERP)
    • Knowledge of CRM tools. Experience with Salesforce or HubSpot strongly preferred.
    • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional team leaders and other key stakeholders
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with excellent collaboration skills
