
Contract Specialist, Business & Legal Affairs

Full timeABOUT THIS ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Specialist to join our Business and Legal Affairs team. This role will be embedded within a specific "Pod" and paired with a dedicated Manager to support the end-to-end agreement workflow for standard campaigns across the company. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in entertainment law and experience working in a transactional legal environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner closely with a Business and Legal Affairs Manager to support agreement lifecycle management.
- Draft, negotiate and track basic agreements, including but not limited to sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements, termination agreements etc, for KG’s roster ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal process standards.
- Assist with the review of Talent programming, content and promotional materials to ensure compliance with KG policies, FTC, and other guild requirements as needed.
- Maintain a process for ensuring the execution of all agreements.
- Collaborate and maintain a professional relationship with KG’s departments, including but not limited to, talent management, campaign management, brand partnerships, finance.
- Work closely with KG departments to address issues affecting the company's day-to-day business affairs.
- Coordinate with KG’s departments and external parties on contract requirements and approval process.
- Manage contract database for Legal department.
- Foster positive long-term relationships with KG clients, partners and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with strong interest in the law, and/or a paralegal and legal admin education. (J.D. from an accredited law school is a PLUS)
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a transactional legal role within the entertainment industry (e.g., transactional paralegal, contracts administrator, business affairs coordinator) within the entertainment industry.
- Understanding of the sports/media/entertainment landscape and content ecosystem.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including: Outlook Calendar, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
