MNS seeks to hire a geospatial analyst that can perform basic ArcGIS functions (making maps for reports and setting up Field Maps for survey staff), with the option of a more senior and experienced applicant to build an in-house geospatial analysis team. We would also consider a biologist or environmental planner who has a strong GIS skillset to perform both biology/planning tasks and geospatial mapping tasks.
This position is geared towards a motivated individual with broad interests in environmental consulting. The ideal candidate would be part of a highly interactive and collaborative team, working to build new client networks, expand services, and deliver high quality products. The position has the option of being remote (with the ability to be in an office when necessary), or hybrid (sharing time between one of the nine California offices and home).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Produce publication-quality maps from field efforts and due-diligence efforts in a timely manner.
- Perform project set-ups for fieldwork in ESRI Field Maps.
- Efficiently generate spatial calculations and package geospatial data for deliverable submissions to clients.
- Organize incoming geospatial and mapping work requests and track production.
- Maintain, update, create, and acquire internal and external GIS data; create and maintain data warehousing and data mining systems; configure and maintain database library; ensure data integrity during integration with other IT systems and databases when importing, exporting, versioning, and maintaining the GIS library structure and geo-database conversions; make recommendations for data standardization and normalization.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards based on industry standards and evaluation of available technology and resources.
- Explains technical information to system users including assisting them in accessing and interpreting GIS information; and providing training to users and advises on best practices.
- Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in technology related to GIS; researches, evaluates, tests, and recommends vendor solutions and technologies; implements improvements upon approval.
- Provide field assessments and written reports for initial due diligence and resource constraints assessments of biological resources.
- Provide occasional monitoring support for construction projects with biological resource concerns.
- Develop professional Working Environmental Awareness Training packages.
- Conduct and author reports on protocol surveys for special-status species.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with environmental/regulatory permitting, cultural, CEQA/NEPA, and planning staff to advance projects from concept to construction stages.
- Effectively generate new client base through outreach within professional networks.
- Efficiently prepare scope of work and bid estimates, monitoring reports, and due-diligence survey reports.
- Serves as an assistant project/task manager on tasks and projects.
- Drive thought leadership and MNS name recognition by presenting at conferences, publishing white papers, and participating in professional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in geospatial sciences, geography, biology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in performing GIS analysis and/or modelling.
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Pro, and Desktop Software
- A high energy, passionate, results-oriented team player and resourceful leader.
- Ability to effectively manage teams and communicate with clients.
- Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required
