Job Title: Senior Identity Security Engineer, IGA
We are looking for a Senior Identity Security Engineer to join the Security Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at Okta to contribute to the excellence of our Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) function. The Security IAM team owns, configures, and manages our internal workforce and customer instances of the Okta platform to make them the reference implementations of the Okta identity platform. In this role you will be at the forefront of delivering Identity as a Service (IDaaS) solutions which not only secure our environment but also showcase the power of our platform. As a Senior Identity Security Engineer, you will bring your expertise in developing and implementing identity solutions that solve complex business challenges to deliver impactful value. The immediate focus of this role will be on IGA capabilities.
Responsibilities:
The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:
$114,000—$172,000 CAD

Responsibilities:
- Solving secure identity problems in our own environment. We strive to be our own best customer, implementing best-in-class secure identity solutions.
- Conceptualizing, designing, implementing and documenting identity governance solutions.
- Configuration and management of our Okta instance to support our existing and developing business needs including: policy and roles management, applications’ integrations, feature implementations, automation of processes etc.
- Supporting the development of more junior members of the team: pair-working, reviewing work, sharing feedback and modeling best practices.
- Troubleshooting and solutioning when things go wrong with our existing access management infrastructure.
- Participating and contributing to our team meetings and engaging with our efforts to improve our ways of working in the IAM engineering team.
- Providing Level 3 support for internal issues and requests.
- 3+ years experience implementing and/or supporting enterprise IAM solutions.
- Passion for IAM and proven familiarity with related disciplines and concepts such as: Identity Life-Cycle Management (ILM), IGA, CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Extensive knowledge and application of IAM capabilities : modern authentication and authorization protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth2), user credential and role management (ABAC, PBAC, RBAC), PAM. Hands-on experience with designing and and implementing solutions with these capabilities and the use of these solutions across workforce and customer user populations.
- Practical experience in integrating SaaS and on-premise applications with IGA tools that allow for automated ILM including access reviews and certifications.
- Extensive experience in managing service accounts using PAM.
- Good working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, GitHUB collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Proven ability to develop solutions that make sense; are modular and reusable; reduce effort and complexity; consider automation over manual processes and follow agreed standards and patterns.
- Enjoy working within a team structure where you are supported to do your best work and encouraged to express your hard-earned industry knowledge.
- Personality to interface with our internal customers and take them along on our journey of identity security and enablement.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, scripting, SQL and other supporting technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of working within SDLC and agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Have working knowledge or security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, SOX, ISO 27001 etc.
