Data Scientist

Unite Health Share Ministries (UHSM) is a nonprofit, innovative faith-based health sharing ministry that facilitates member-to-member health sharing among fellow Christians, serving as a connector to administer medical cost sharing. About This Role

UHSM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. As a key contributor, you will analyze large and complex datasets to uncover insights, build predictive models, and help drive data-informed decisions across the organization.

Candidates must reside in : California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, or Virginia .

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights for key teams across the organization.
• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems (retention, revenue, program utilization, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, sales, marketing, etc.) to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
• Perform A/B testing and statistical analyses to support product and strategy development.
• Clean, preprocess, and validate data for modeling and analytics purposes.
• Develop repository of key dashboards for leadership and team leads to utilize as a source of truth.
• Develop and maintain reproducible code and documentation.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in data science and machine learning.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Data Science , Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a data science or analytical role; h ealthcare field experience is a plus .
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with SQL.
• Experience with machine learning libraries (ex. scikit-learn or XGBoost ).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools Tableau and PowerB I .
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and ability to challenge the status quo.
