The Business Analyst is a pivotal role in translating workflow processes into actionable, clear, and concise business requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation, quality control, and application enhancements. In this role, the business analyst will serve as a liaison between stakeholders and product development teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment to bring product enhancements and developments to successful fruition.

This is a remote role.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and software development to draft business requirements, document processes, and facilitate the successful implementation of product projects.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on technical and functional aspects of product development.
  • Analyze datasets and utilize techniques to extract meaningful insights and identify patterns to inform product development and optimization efforts.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to validate product enhancements, ensure accuracy in development delivery, and verify compliance with predefined specifications and requirements. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist the documentation and training team to develop comprehensive documentation, training materials, and user guides to support internal teams and external stakeholders in understanding and effectively utilizing product features. Provide training sessions and demonstrations as needed to ensure proper product adoption and utilization.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains within the product lifecycle. Drive initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual interventions, and improve overall product performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with team members, software engineers, and stakeholders to understand and improve claims and care management applications.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and workflow documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and timeline for multiple simultaneous complex projects.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical team members with varying communication styles, both locally and remotely.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret and apply various state workers compensation fee schedules and policy requirements.
  • Knowledge of Medicare billing guidelines and payment methodologies is required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience in claims administration, healthcare, insurance billing, or property & casualty sectors.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile principles, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CorVel's claims system or CareMC platform a plus
  • Exposure to application development and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; Project and Visio are a plus.

Pay Range

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $59,562 - $89,057
