AI Template Engineer

The Opportunity

At Weave we are reimagining the regulatory process for drug development around AI. Our goal is to dramatically accelerate the pace and rate at which drugs get to market.

We are seeking our inaugural AI Template Engineer, reporting to our Chief Product Officer. This is a unique and pivotal role that requires a person of uncommon skills and disposition. You will develop and refine Weave's core "AI Templates" (essentially a collection of prompts that produce a document), customize them on behalf of customers, and teach our customers how to do so themselves.

This role is heavily and directly engaged with customers and requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently with LLM prompts to produce high quality scientific/regulatory documents. It entails tight collaboration with customers and Weave commercial and product teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Template development: Weave's core AI Templates get customers up and running out of the box. As models improve and regulatory guidances evolve, the templates must adapt. New, additional templates must also be developed to accommodate new therapeutic modalities, disease areas, and regulatory jurisdictions.
• Customer template customization: Our core templates are a good place to start, but many of our customers require template customization to accommodate their style, modality, or scientific idiosyncrasies. You will work with customers to customize templates to their needs
• Prompt training: Ultimately we want our customers to be self-sufficient in maintaining their templates. You will help them overcome trepidation and develop the ability and structure to do so.
• Handbook creation: You will document best practices and situational tips for developing and customizing templates for internal and external purposes.
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Prompt Artist and Pragmatist: You are adept with LLM's and have done a lot of (systematic) experimentation to get them to do things you want. Yet you don't write prompts for prompts' sake but to get a job done.
• Scientifically Conversant: You've got scientific wherewithal. You've been involved with drug development, you're an SME in something, and what you don't know you can pick up quickly. You know what these mean: CMC, CSR, HAQ, ICH, IND, NDA, eCTD.
• Customer Lover: You thrive on working with customers, helping them solve their problems, and finding success.
• Outstanding Educator and Communicator: Educating isn't a chore for you, it's a joy. You love to see people "get it" and enjoy the craft of figuring out how to help them get there.
• Builder: You relish uncharted territory and yearn to build a cabin in it (figuratively speaking).
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in B2B SaaS or in bio industries (e.g., drug co., CRO/CDMO), ideally in technical/software roles
• Experience serving therapeutics, life science, or bio markets strongly preferred
• Drug-related (e.g., bio, chem) education preferred, advanced degree ideal
