Director of Payer Strategy & Engagement
Art Pharmacy
Full timeSocialRx (dba Art Pharmacy) is a fast-growing digital health company reimagining how we address behavioral and social health through social prescribing and community-based care. We partner with health plans, public agencies, and higher education institutions to connect people with purpose, belonging, and better well-being. With contracts across AZ, CA, CT, GA, NC, NY, and MA, we are scaling nationally to deliver meaningful, measurable impact.
We are seeking a mission-driven, entrepreneurial leader to serve as our Director of Payer Strategy & Engagement. In this role, you will directly lead all payer-facing engagement and strategy efforts. You will own the full lifecycle of health plan partnerships – from shaping the strategy and refining our value proposition to driving execution and closing deals.
You will work closely with the CEO, who will continue to support opportunity generation and join strategic conversations. You will be the primary driver of payer deal advancement, representing SocialRx to national and regional managed care organizations. You will translate Medicaid and Duals plan priorities into lasting, high-impact partnerships that scale our mission.
- Develop and continuously refine SocialRx’s go-to-market strategy for Medicaid and Duals health plans.
- Shape messaging that resonates with managed care payers – aligned to regulatory priorities, quality frameworks (e.g., HEDIS, CAHPS), and social health mandates.
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO and cross-functional leaders on pricing, contracting, and growth strategies.
- Lead the full sales cycle for health plan opportunities, from initial qualification through deal close.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of payer prospects, pilots, and long-term contracts.
- Develop customized proposals, pitch materials, and solution briefs tailored to plan objectives.
- Represent SocialRx with health plan executives and policy leaders.
- Present at industry events and participate in strategic coalitions to position SocialRx as a leader in social health.
- Maintain strong relationships with population health, behavioral health, innovation, and SDoH teams within MCOs.
- Partner with Product, Clinical Innovation, and Operations teams to align implementation planning with plan needs.
- Translate payer feedback into product refinement and delivery readiness.
- Support grant, RFP, and Medicaid procurement responses as needed.
- 8+ years of experience in managed care, Medicaid strategy, SDoH innovation, or payer-provider partnerships.
- Deep understanding of Medicaid, Duals, and value-based care trends.
- Track record of building and closing strategic partnerships with managed care organizations.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Highly self-directed and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Location: Remote (U.S.-based), with occasional travel for key meetings or events.
- Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base salary + performance-based bonus + equity. Final offer will be commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Comprehensive health insurance, 401(k), generous PTO, paid parental leave, and professional development support.
