We’re deep in Azure, Terraform, CI/CD, and remote desktop platforms. No legacy ball-and-chain here—just a team of builders using the best tools for the job.

Your Work Matters

Position Overview

As a Cloud Platform Developer at Rival Insurance Technology, you will lead the engineering, automation, and operational management of our hosted desktop platform, while also contributing to core DevOps initiatives across the organization. This is a key technical role that blends customer-facing responsibilities with infrastructure excellence, helping to drive scalable, secure, and high-performing hosted solutions.

You will be responsible for managing and optimizing the full lifecycle of deployments—from onboarding new clients to building automation for provisioning, monitoring, and support. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with platform engineering peers to improve CI/CD processes, infrastructure-as-code, observability tooling, and developer enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations: user provisioning, access troubleshooting, session resets, and performance investigation (SQL, AVD, TBW).
  • Improve deployment workflows through scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
  • Review and optimize Flex hosting configurations to balance cost and performance.
  • Build and maintain centralized monitoring and reporting for hosted Flex environments.
  • Create and maintain internal enablement and documentation for Customer Success and IT.

Core Platform DevOps Support

  • Support cloud infrastructure provisioning and maintenance (Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform).
  • Contribute to CI/CD tooling and automation for product delivery pipelines.
  • Support platform observability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Collaborate with other Developers on improving developer experience and reliability engineering.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
  • Deep experience with Windows environments, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Active Directory/Azure AD.
  • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Familiarity with LangChain or similar LLM-based automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, remote access tools, and desktop management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure IaaS/PaaS, especially VM and SQL-related services.
  • Experience supporting production infrastructure with performance, reliability, and customer experience in mind.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Bonus Points For

  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep).
  • Prior work in multi-tenant or single-tenant hosted environments.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals in cloud environments.
  • Experience with SQL Server performance tuning or tracing.

We are committed to fostering an accessible and inclusive workplace. If you require accommodation during the recruitment process, let us know—we’ll work with you to meet your needs.
