Job Summary

The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for the build, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of physical and virtual server environments. They ensure that the server systems are running efficiently, effectively, and securely to meet the organization's needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain servers running Windows Server operating systems
  • Coordinate system downtimes application administrators and system users.
  • Support the management of system security, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and data encryption.
  • Maintain, monitor, and adjust assigned server storage.
  • Upgrade and patch systems to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest security updates and software versions.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system and network issues and provide solutions to mitigate them.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure optimum performance and scalability.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including configuration, installation, and troubleshooting notes.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure consistency in IT infrastructure.
  • Work with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participation in off hour on call rotation including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing Windows systems as a Systems Administrator for Windows Server 2008, 2016, 2019, and 2022
  • Proven experience in managing complex Windows environments.
  • Hands on experience and deep knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with PowerShell and other scripting languages
  • Hands on with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Hands on experience with Storage.
  • Hands on experience with Backup and Recovery tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Hands on Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud computing.
  • Hands on Experience with Linux and REHL based servers.
  • Preferred experience in a health care system

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
  • Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
  • A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
