Sanofi’s Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) team plays a vital role in advancing scientific dialogue and clinical engagement. As a trusted scientific partner, the MSL builds meaningful relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to accelerate data dissemination and support improved patient outcomes. We are currently seeking an MSL to join our Transplant team, covering the Western Canada region.
This field-based role is ideal for someone with a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the transplant landscape and healthcare systems in Canada.

Main Responsibilities
External Expert Engagement (40%)
- Build and maintain long-term, peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), transplant physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Exchange timely, balanced, scientific information aligned with regulatory standards.
- Identify medical and scientific needs, emerging trends, and research opportunities within the transplant community.
- Represent Sanofi at key national/regional medical congresses and symposia.
- Organize and support local advisory boards, educational meetings, and speaker training sessions.
- Translate complex data into impactful clinical insights that inform healthcare decisions.
- Communicate actionable field insights to internal teams to support evidence generation, medical planning, and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, regulatory, RWE, and global teams as appropriate.
- Support evidence generation strategies, including site identification for clinical trials and ISS submissions.
- Strategically map stakeholders across the Western region, develop territory-specific engagement plans, and ensure efficient coverage of transplant centers.
- Plan and track engagement activities in alignment with medical strategy and Sanofi compliance standards.
- Maintain high standards of compliance with internal governance processes and external regulatory requirements.
- Ensure non-promotional interactions and activities follow applicable Canadian and global codes of practice.
- Territory scope: This role covers all major Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) centers in Western Canada, including key institutions in BC and Alberta.
- Requires independence, initiative, and agility to manage a broad geography and virtual engagements.
- Must navigate complex scientific topics, varying healthcare systems, and stakeholder priorities.
- Field medical role with no direct reports
- Responsible for managing MSL activity budget (e.g., education events, advisory boards, congress participation)
- Influences strategic engagement with HCPs, policy makers, and research networks across Western Canada
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Advanced degree in health sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD preferred).
- Alternatively, BSc/MSc in health or life sciences with strong clinical/research background (e.g., RN, BPharm).
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or academia; industry experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of transplant medicine, immunology, or adjacent therapeutic areas is a strong asset.
- Strong scientific acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
- Proven track record in building partnerships with KOLs or investigators.
- Strategic thinking and territory management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of Canadian healthcare systems, regulatory landscape, and compliance standards.
- High comfort level with digital tools and omnichannel medical engagement.
