THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a strategic, service-oriented Director of IT Services and Operations to lead enterprise IT support and service delivery across a growing, multi-site organization. This role is responsible for managing end-user computing, IT service desk operations, enterprise IT platforms, vendor relationships, and performance of managed service providers (MSPs).

The Director will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, enhancing end-user experience, optimizing licensing and vendor spend, and ensuring scalable, consistent IT support across a diverse enterprise environment. This role does not include responsibility for network infrastructure, cybersecurity, or voice systems, which are managed separately. This is a remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Lead and manage IT operations functions including:
  • End-user support and service desk operations
  • Endpoint management (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
  • Collaboration and productivity platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom)
  • IT asset lifecycle management (procurement, deployment, retirement)
  • Device imaging, software deployment, and patching
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and escalation workflows
  • Define, track, and report on service performance using SLAs and KPIs
  • Champion continuous improvement and user satisfaction across IT services

Vendor and MSP Oversight

  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and contracts for IT services, hardware, and software
  • Lead oversight and governance of MSPs, ensuring SLA compliance and performance accountability
  • Conduct regular vendor scorecard reviews and quarterly business reviews
  • Monitor license utilization and eliminate underused or redundant services

Cost Optimization & Efficiency

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities across enterprise IT platforms and support models
  • Partner with Finance and Procurement to manage IT budgets and forecasting
  • Track operational metrics such as cost-per-ticket, license usage rates, and endpoint efficiency

Integration & Scalability

  • Support IT readiness for organizational growth, new sites, and M&A integrations
  • Standardize IT service delivery across business units and geographies
  • Ensure new employees receive consistent, efficient technology onboarding experiences

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role managing IT operations or service delivery
  • Proven experience managing third-party vendors and MSPs in a service-driven environment
  • Solid understanding of enterprise IT tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, asset management, collaboration platforms)
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and ITSM tools (e.g., ManageEngine, ServiceNow, or equivalent)
  • Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in multi-site or distributed organizations, ideally with exposure to acquisitions or integrations
