About The Role
As a Senior People Partner, you’ll help connect people strategies with business needs to support growth and a great employee experience. You’ll work on projects that improve how we work, help teams grow, and make Tempo a place where people and performance thrive. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the Canadian & US market and bonus points for Global HR knowledge in the EU.
What You'll Do
- Proactively partner with client groups to identify strategic issues, workforce planning or organizational design challenges and provide advice and expertise to help develop creative solutions.
- Develop and implement HR-related projects and participate as a team member on special projects as needed. May also lead local or regional initiatives and projects.
- Provide strategic guidance to people leaders on performance management processes, including probationary period reviews and ongoing performance assessments.
- Conduct employee engagement check-ins and lead action planning based on survey insights, including initiatives tied to external employer branding and certification programs
- Facilitate key training initiatives, including new manager onboarding, professional development planning, and policy education sessions to support employee growth and organizational alignment.
- Act as a subject matter expert on HR compliance and organizational policies, including health and safety, accommodations, accessibility, and equity legislation
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and support job leveling in collaboration with people leaders
- Partner with Finance to analyze total compensation costs and support annual forecasting and reconciliation
- Liaise with senior leadership and governance teams to provide status updates and secure necessary approvals.
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate/Professional Development in Human Resources Management.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist or HRBP role within a scale-up or mid-sized organization supporting globally distributed teams
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Expertise in employee relations, compensation & benefits, HR accounting, performance management, and HR Metrics.
- Ability to write, understand and implement policies and procedures to all levels of the organization (junior employee to senior leader)
- Highly adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset suited for diverse and dynamic teams
