About The Role

The Investigations Analyst, on the Ethics and Compliance Investigations team, plays a critical role in identifying, understanding, and responding to violations of internal policies and procedures and to mitigate fraud risk. With an understanding of operations controls and systems within the property management environment, the Investigations Analyst will analyze key documents and data to inform investigative conclusions and identify the root causes and impacts of employee misconduct. This is a remote position.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work with E&C Investigators to assess allegations of misconduct in operational areas (e.g. work orders and vendor management) to scope and plan investigative activities.
  • Review and analyze key documents and data from internal systems (e.g. maintenance records, lease files, transaction logs).
  • Support the Investigations team in evaluating evidence and other investigative activities, as needed, to make findings.
  • Conduct structured analysis to identify the underlying causes of misconduct, including to determine whether existing controls failed or were evaded, or whether a control gap exists.
  • Assess the impact of substantiated misconduct on business operations and risk to the company.
  • Collaborate with Investigators and others in E&C and other functions to recommend appropriate remediation.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders about root causes of misconduct to enhance risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Leverage knowledge of company policies, procedures, and controls to assess the context and contributing factors of incidents under investigation.
  • Stay up to date on operational developments and practices to ensure that Investigations and other compliance program activities are informed and current.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders – including Legal, HR, Operations, and Risk – to further embed and align the E&C Program with other functions.
  • Participate in the development of compliance trainings and communications that have an operational dimension.
  • Provide training for Investigations team on key compliance risk areas and associated controls.
  • Provide additional support a needed to drive the strategic priorities of the E&C Program.

Who We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Five years’ experience with business/operational management and/or auditing/ financial controls, preferably in the property management space
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures, internal controls, and business processes common in a property management/facilities management environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and distill it into actionable findings.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, PowerBI) and experience navigating internal business systems (e.g. Yardi, Salesforce, SharePoint).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Planning/organizing - Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changes, and to report on status.
  • Integrity – Demonstrate a high level of ethical judgment and ability to maintain absolute confidentiality over sensitive information.

Pay Rate: $95,000 - $100,000 yr.*

  • This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
