Working with the Foodservice Sales team, the Account Manager is responsible for achieving annual volume sales and gross margin targets by effectively partnering with and managing their key accounts. In this role, the incumbent will develop customer growth strategies and plans that align to both High Liner strategic goals and customer goals, as well as building and strengthening relationships with key customers to foster trust.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Planning & Selling:

  • Develop customer growth strategies and plans that align to both High Liner’s strategic goals and customer’s goals
  • Identify new strategic opportunities
  • Execute insight-based selling to drive long-term growth
  • Effectively execute plans, monitor progress and course correct

Customer Relationships

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key customers to foster trust
  • Successfully develop, maintain and oversee customer relations interacting with customers, reviewing and discussing business relationships and proactively managing key issues/problems

Financial Accountability

  • Achieve sales volume and contribution and goals
  • Manage trade spend effectively and efficiently
  • Improve sales forecast accuracy
  • Manage SG&A

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Commerce or related field
  • 3 -5 years of sales experience
  • Excellent negotiating, assessment and analytical abilities
  • Practical experience with category management
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint and working knowledge of syndicated data sources (i.e. Nielsen, Precima etc.)
  • Willingness to travel as needed to drive business results - overnight travel required

Travel

  • Expected travel for this role is up to 80%, mostly in Alberta
