Job Description


Phreesia, a leading health technology company, is looking for a Communications Specialist to play an integral role in supporting our communications strategy and building awareness of our brand. As a Communications Specialist, you will have demonstrated experience in core communications functions, including public relations and media relations. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across various areas of our organization, including internal communications, client stories and recruiting support. We’re looking for a strong writer, skilled storyteller and detail-oriented self-starter who can hit the ground running. The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and a positive attitude are essential.


This is a remote position for those in the EST or CST time zones.


What You'll Do:

  • Support our internal communications efforts, including by owning our weekly employee communication
  • Create high-quality communications materials, such as key messages, FAQs, fact sheets and talking points, that align with our organizational goals
  • Support our PR, media relations and other earned media functions by writing engaging press releases; cultivating relationships with journalists; pitching client-driven stories to healthcare trade and business media outlets; and securing impactful media placements
  • Field incoming media inquiries
  • Leverage innovative storytelling techniques to amplify Phreesia’s story to external audiences
  • Provide communications support to our HR/Recruiting teams
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing team to extend communications messages across other channels, including via social media and at events


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant communications experience
  • Healthcare communication experience required
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record of media placements in relevant publications
  • Experience distilling complex topics into engaging content that targets different audiences
  • Creativity and attention to detail
