This position offers a base salary range of $106,016 - $176,693 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus based on company performance.

OVERVIEW


Ensure that Sheetz adheres to all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Serves as the key liaison between the Sheetz HR and Legal teams. Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HR compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to the HR team, executive leadership and other departments to identify and mitigate risk. This position will play a crucial role in advising leadership on ethical issues and working to foster a culture of ethical practice/integrity.


RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)


1. Develops, implements, and oversees HR compliance programs, policies and procedures.

2. Through monitoring processes and systems, ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local employment laws to:

a. Stay current with potential new or changing employment laws and legislation with a focus on new markets/states to which Sheetz may be expanding and advises HR and other departments on necessary actions to ensure ongoing compliance.

b. Ensure company’s compliance programs are updated accordingly.

3. Serves as the primary liaison between the Sheetz HR and Legal teams to include facilitating and leading regular meetings, updates, education, etc. to ensure that HR employees receive the resources and services necessary to ensure adherence to required employment laws.

4. Conducts risk assessments and regular audits to identify potential areas of legal exposure regarding Sheetz’ employment practices and to ensure compliance. Develops and recommends strategies to resolve identified risks and mitigate potential future rusks.

5. Advises employees at all levels of the Sheetz organization regarding adherence to our Code of Ethics Policy, specifically as it applies to our HR and people practices.

6. Designs contents and delivers training programs to educate employees about company ethics policies, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures. Works with Instructional Design team to identify the most effective training applications

7. Working with the Employee Relations team, conducts and coordinates internal investigations into suspected violations of compliance and ethics policies, documents findings, and reports out to the appropriate individuals regarding the outcome of the investigation.

8. Collaborates with the organization to ensure alignment and integration of compliance initiatives, policies, procedures, practices, etc. related to employment matters.

9. Completes HR related compliance reporting and metrics for executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and government agencies as necessary and requested.

10. Selects and oversees third party vendors who provide ethics / compliance systems, processes and/or data that support Sheetz.


QUALIFICATIONS


(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required

• Master’s Degree preferred


Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience as an HR manager, HRBP, HR Compliance Officer, Employment Law or related position required

• Demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state and local (within the Sheetz footprint) employment laws, regulations and rules required

• Previous supervisory experience preferred


Licenses/Certifications

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification preferred
