We are seeking an experienced Design & Creative Director (Freelance) with a sharp eye for design, a passion for digital storytelling, and a strong understanding of how to engage audiences across social media platforms. This role will lead the development and execution of visually compelling and strategically sound digital campaigns—from concept through production.
You’ll work cross-functionally with strategy, content, influencer, and paid media teams to ensure a cohesive, platform-native approach that reflects brand voice and drives results.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Design & Creative Director (Freelance) with a sharp eye for design, a passion for digital storytelling, and a strong understanding of how to engage audiences across social media platforms. This role will lead the development and execution of visually compelling and strategically sound digital campaigns—from concept through production.
You’ll work cross-functionally with strategy, content, influencer, and paid media teams to ensure a cohesive, platform-native approach that reflects brand voice and drives results.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership: Concept and oversee digital-first creative campaigns including paid and organic social, display, email, motion/animation, and influencer content.
- Design Direction: Own visual storytelling across platforms, from look-and-feel development to final asset delivery—ensuring creative is high-impact, on-brand, and channel-optimized.
- Social-First Thinking: Translate creative strategy into best-in-class executions for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with copywriters, editors, animators, and strategists to bring concepts to life; manage freelance designers and vendors as needed.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Present ideas and rationale clearly to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback while maintaining design integrity.
- Trendspotting: Stay ahead of creative, cultural, and platform trends—bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the table regularly.
- 6+ years of experience in digital design, art direction, or creative direction—agency experience preferred.
- Proven portfolio showcasing standout digital and social creative work.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and emerging AI/design tools.
- Understanding of social and digital KPIs and how design impacts performance.
- Experience working across a variety of brands (lifestyle, beauty, CPG, tech, etc.) is a plus.
- Motion design or video editing capabilities (or oversight experience) are a strong bonus.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Freelance / Project-based
- Variable weekly commitment depending on project scope
- Must be available for collaboration during core working hours (EST preferred)
