The Role

We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and execution-oriented Marketing Manager to lead our brand and marketing efforts. This role will be responsible for shaping Barrel’s external voice, amplifying our work, and bringing fresh ideas to how we show up: from content and campaigns to conferences and co-marketing initiatives with our tech partners. This is a new position with lots of runway for impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the Barrel marketing strategy to support new business efforts and how we show up across all channels, from digital to IRL.
  • Create and manage a content calendar across Barrel channels, including case studies, newsletters, thought leadership, and social media.
  • Partner with internal teams to surface and package compelling client work that reinforces our expertise.
  • Collaborate with Barrel Growth & Partnerships Manager and tech partners to ideate and execute co-marketing initiatives, including webinars, events, content, and sponsorships.
  • Identify and coordinate activations at key industry conferences and events to increase visibility and brand awareness.
  • Explore new and innovative ways to promote Barrel’s work and point of view to attract the right clients and talent.
  • Track marketing performance and optimize strategies based on insights and results.
  • Report directly to and collaborate with Barrel CEO and relevant team members on initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing, ideally within a professional service, agency, or B2B setting.
  • Strong storytelling and content development skills across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Comfortable working across teams to gather inputs and translate ideas into polished content.
  • Experience managing campaigns, events, and partner activations from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem, tech partnerships, and the CPG space.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and excellent project management skills.

Outcomes

Success in this role will be defined by the ability to elevate Barrel’s visibility, strengthen our brand presence, and support business growth through marketing. Key outcomes include:

  • Increased brand awareness across digital channels that drives interest from prospective clients and partners.
  • Growth in audience engagement and followers that contributes to a stronger top-of-funnel and pipeline activity.
  • Development and distribution of content—including newsletters, case studies, and thought leadership—that showcases our expertise and generates inbound interest.
  • Execution of co-marketing initiatives—digital and in-person—that expand our reach and unlock new business opportunities.
  • Events that build community while also surfacing potential client leads and partnership conversations.
  • Measurable impact on the volume and quality of marketing-driven leads entering the pipeline.
  • Ongoing refinement of the marketing strategy based on performance, feedback, and evolving business priorities.

Compensation

Salary range of $100k to $125k, depending on experience.
