TruffleHog is a popular open source tool used by security researchers all over the world to find leaky API keys and responsibly disclose them to affected companies. This provides income through bug bounty platforms like HackerOne to individuals that may otherwise have a hard time finding employment. This also prevents breaches from occurring, which can be very costly for companies to resolve.

When we founded Truffle Security Co. in February of 2021, we committed to continue to grow a community with security researchers around the world, and continue to provide free and open resources to support those that make the world more secure. About the role

We're looking for a Contract Technical Recruiter to help us scale our team through the end of the year. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role that is high-impact, focused on hiring top-tier technical talent, primarily software engineers and engineering managers. You'll take ownership of our technical hiring efforts across Product and Engineering, collaborating closely with hiring managers and founders. You'll work directly with our Head of People to support priority roles and ensure timely progress across open roles, and serve as a partner to our hiring managers.

What you'll be working on

  • Full-cycle recruiting for technical roles, from sourcing to closing
  • Partnering with engineering leadership to understand hiring needs, define role requirements, craft compelling job descriptions, and shape interview processes
  • Building strong, diverse candidate pipelines through direct outreach and effective sourcing strategies
  • Source, screen, and manage candidate pipeline for multiple roles at a time
  • Running efficient, timely, and human-centered interview processes that leave a great impression, even on candidates we don't hire
  • Collaborate with the People Ops to ensure smooth onboarding handoffs

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in technical recruiting (in-house or agency), with a proven track record of hiring senior engineers and engineering managers
  • Experience supporting early-stage or high-growth startups
  • Deep sourcing experience—you know how to find and engage talent in competitive markets
  • Confidence managing multiple reqs at once and prioritizing effectively
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach—you enjoy partnering with hiring managers and iterating based on feedback
  • Proficiency in Greenhouse ATS, and sourcing tools
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Hourly rate: $75–$90/hour based on experience, skills, and market knowledge.

Contract type: 1099, 6-month term with potential to extend.
