Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for an organized, creative, and enthusiastic person to join our Adult Trade Publicity team as a Publicity Assistant. This person will work on a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books.
Responsibilities
Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 2 days per week.

Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for an organized, creative, and enthusiastic person to join our Adult Trade Publicity team as a Publicity Assistant. This person will work on a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the Senior Director of Marketing, Publicity & Communications, Senior Publicity Managers, Senior Publicist, and Associate Publicist
- Write press material, pitch letters, emails, and secure national and local media, including print, radio, television, and online outlets
- Manage online publicity, including updating the website’s event lists, maintain and build contact lists, and fielding general media requests in a fast-paced environment
- Help execute author appearances and book tours, including arranging travel and creating tour schedules
- Process invoices and update annual budget with department credit card expenses
- Coordinate galley-to-trade, galley, finished book, monthly paperback, and catalogue mailings
- Pitch authors available for interview to our extensive radio list and field responses
- Create an office-wide posting of monthly NYC author events
- Office maintenance including book ordering, galley organization, magazine subscriptions, and other duties
- Collate weekly report on media hits and campaign results
- Work closely with authors as well as marketing, editorial, and sales teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detailed-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
- Internship experience in publishing preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Publicity Assistant, Cision and social media is a plus
- 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience
