Job Description

Our growing retail business is seeking a Bookkeeper / Accountant to handle our day-to-day financials. You’ll be responsible for managing QuickBooks Online, sales tax compliance, payroll processing, bank statement reconciliations, expense categorization, matching deposits, and supporting tax prep.

The ideal candidate has experience in retail or product-based businesses, strong accounting knowledge, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Categorize transactions, track income/expenses
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements
  • Process payroll and manage tax withholdings
  • File state and local sales tax returns
  • Match deposits with POS or ecommerce payments (e.g., Square, Stripe, Shopify)
  • Generate monthly financial reports
  • Support CPA with year-end tax preparation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (retail preferred)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online
  • Familiar with sales tax laws, payroll systems, and retail POS platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • U.S. accounting experience preferred

Schedule

  • Flexible remote hours
