The Corporate Bookmaking Team is seeking a Managing Editorial Assistant to provide support to the Penguin Workshop Managing Editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for children's books, be detail-oriented, eager to collaborate with all departments in the bookmaking process, and willing to work in a fast-paced, high volume, and creative environment.
Penguin Workshop publishes a comprehensive list of New York Times bestsellers, favorite children's book characters and licensed properties, in a variety of children's book formats, including picture books, middle grade, young adult, and graphic novels.
Specific Responsiblilites Include
The salary for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.

Specific Responsiblilites Include
- Provide general administrative support to the Managing Editorial department, including setting up meetings, providing title and meeting reports, calendar maintenance, etc.
- Set up and maintain title metadata and schedules in SAP and FileMaker Pro.
- Approve covers for distribution.
- Disseminate up-to-date information regarding production schedules, on-sale dates, and prices, etc.
- Coordinate reprint corrections and ensure accuracy.
- Create barcodes.
- Review eBooks for formatting, content accuracy, and overall quality.
- Review contract status and royalty rates.
- Download and collate files for leveling submission, digital sales materials, and various divisional needs/requests.
- Attend weekly production meetings with the Editorial, Copyediting, Design, and Production departments.
- Minimum 6 months prior publishing experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, including a strong ability to interact with employees across various departments.
- Superb organizational and time management skills.
- Outstanding ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
