Company Overview:

Do you enjoy making a difference in a child's life, transforming education, and evolving learning? Come join Teachstone, the interaction company! Teachstone was founded in 2008 to deliver the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) nationwide and around the globe. Developed through years of research, the CLASS observation tool measures the interactions between teachers and children, which have been shown to drive learning and lifelong achievement. Teachstone helps organizations conduct classroom observations and provides professional development so that teachers improve, and children learn more. Our online subscription service, myTeachstone, simplifies CLASS implementation by combining observation data with a robust library of CLASS resources and professional development.

At Teachstone, everything we do is about improving the ways teachers interact with their students. We train coaches and observers, build and deliver online support programs, design professional development – all of it grounded in one proven fact: the interactions teachers have with students have a lasting impact on their academic and developmental success. By helping educators describe, measure and improve their interactions and relationships with students, Teachstone is transforming education nationwide, one interaction at a time.

Role Overview:

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will be a driving force behind Teachstone's most critical initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and maximum impact. Acting as a direct extension of the CEO, you will remove roadblocks, accelerate decision-making, and push high-priority projects forward. This role is designed for a proactive leader who thrives in dynamic environments, seamlessly connects strategy to execution, and delivers results with urgency.

Why This Role is Unique:

Teachstone is entering a period of rapid growth as we work toward becoming the world's leading company focused on improving teacher-student interactions. This role puts you at the center of that journey.

You will work directly with our CEO as a trusted partner, influencing high-stakes decisions and leading mission-critical initiatives. With visibility across a 180+ person organization, your impact will be broad and significant.

This is a leadership role with direct impact—far beyond administrative support. You will lead cross-functional, high-impact projects, tackle our toughest challenges, and contribute directly to Teachstone's expansion. Your work will shape strategy, drive execution, and ensure our teams are operating at peak performance.

Role Responsibilities:

Executive Strategy and Operations

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and operational partner to the CEO, ensuring top priorities are translated into clear, measurable outcomes.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of the CEO's agenda by driving organizational alignment, operational focus, and cross-functional execution.
  • Anticipate needs, prepare decision-ready materials, and coordinate inputs to accelerate leadership decision-making.

Drive Strategy to Execution

  • Translate high-level strategy into actionable plans and lead execution across departments with accountability and speed.
  • Ensure initiatives have clear goals, owners, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Proactively identify and resolve barriers that could delay or derail progress.

Ensure Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Maintain strategic alignment across executive leaders and departments through strong coordination, communication, and follow-up.
  • Ensure clarity and continuity of shared objectives through strategic planning cycles and regular check-ins.
  • Track and manage enterprise-wide priorities to maintain momentum and impact.

Lead Strategic Projects and Planning Rhythms

  • Lead and manage high-impact, cross-functional initiatives and partnerships that support revenue growth, innovation, and operational scale.
  • Advance the CEO's strategic vision by building operational systems that scale with the company's growth.

Represent the CEO and Strengthen Internal Communications

  • Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings, ensuring clarity, alignment, and follow-through on action items.
  • Communicate executive decisions and initiatives across the organization in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Act as a trusted connector between the CEO and teams, surfacing key insights and feedback.

Support Organizational Effectiveness and Culture

  • Identify areas of organizational inefficiency and lead improvement efforts that enhance team performance and operational clarity.
  • Lead special projects to support organizational development, leadership effectiveness, and cultural cohesion.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and strategic execution across teams.

Role Qualifications:

  • Proven Leadership: 8+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and cross-functional execution. Experience in education, SaaS, or professional services is preferred.
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker: Strong ability to analyze financial, operational, and competitive data to generate insights that drive measurable business impact.
  • Compelling Communicator: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to craft clear, persuasive proposals, presentations, and executive-level insights.
  • Execution-Focused: You thrive in high-stakes environments, proactively solving problems, removing roadblocks, and ensuring initiatives move forward with speed and precision.
  • Impact-Driven Leader: Your work will directly contribute to Teachstone's ability to scale, innovate, and improve educational outcomes—shaping the future of teaching and learning.

What We Offer:

  • Fair, Competitive Pay: We ensure equal pay for equal work, using consistent salary bands based on market benchmarks, reviewed annually. Prior salaries, negotiation skills, or fear of conflict don't influence your pay.
  • Salary Range: $175,000 - $204,000 with a 20% bonus, determined by your experience and skills
  • Comprehensive benefits: We offer a well rounded benefits package to support your overall life balance. Eligibility depends on your role and employment status.
