Job Description

The Vice President Client Engagement leads the development and execution of client strategic plans across assigned markets. This position identifies and prioritizes investments in capabilities, systems and programs that enhance market competitiveness and aligns to the company and client’s growth objectives. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the extended account management teams and is accountable for driving alignment and collaboration across (Commercial and Government Programs), and throughout Prime.

Responsibilities

  • Instill a “proactive client leadership” culture across Prime by regularly evaluating and influencing people, processes, and technology that directly, or indirectly impact our client relationships; collaborate with internal operations teams to bring awareness, and ensure Prime’s ability, to meet the company’s strategic objectives and fulfill client obligations
  • Ensure enterprise alignment, prioritization, and efficiency in the delivery of core and expanded capabilities, growth initiatives, and products; leverage an intimate understanding of client priorities, market direction, and demand for new products/services in the marketplace to influence the development and deployment of market competitive solutions
  • Provide leadership to the Area Vice President Client Engagement and extended client teams, ensuring adequate representation for market-specific client needs; align account management activities across all lines of business and develop methodologies, processes and reporting capabilities that inform and support the consistent delivery of Prime’s value proposition to the client and ensure retention of key accounts
  • Collaborate across Account Management support and operations teams to establish key performance indicators and reporting dashboards that monitor and influence Prime’s performance against client contracts; develop a cadence for reporting relationship status and retention metrics for Health Plan and Employer Group accounts; define clear and measurable account management objectives that coincide with strategic and operational initiatives and lead to the identification, development and expansion of client relationships
  • Identify key relationships necessary to deliver core and expanded capabilities, drive growth, and ensure market competitiveness, including but not limited to: executive sponsors, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plans, national benefits consultants, key state leaders, industry trade associations, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); establish an effective communication and collaboration cadence to respond to market/competitive threats (i.e. coalitions) and ensure program compliance, operational best practices and industry leading innovation
  • Lead market-based planning across client engagement team; support the Sales team in evaluating RFP effectiveness, understanding and responding to market perception, and advocating for refinements to product offerings, processes, technology to achieve growth and success; solicit market feedback related to products, financials and contracts and establish an internal framework to respond to market feedback and RFP inquiries
  • Manage department budget, staffing, performance and development, and consistently demonstrate Prime’s leadership expectations during interactions with direct reports, cross functional and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Health Care Administration, or related area of study
  • 15 years of relevant work experience in sales, account management, and strategy development experience in PBM, pharmacy, health plan and/or managed care
  • 10 years of leadership/people management experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate meetings, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport and collaborate effectively across departments, internally and externally, and at all levels within an organization
  • Experience driving the identification of improvement opportunities and driving change of the implementation of process changes
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Exceptional client relationship management and cross-functional team building skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to synthesize information from multiple sources into actionable plans
  • Able to balance and prioritize compliance, business and other competing goals and risks, while still driving programs and initiatives to completion
  • Strong financial acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other related advanced degree

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able to “move or traverse”
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and/or other office productivity equipment
  • Must be able to hear and constantly communicate information and ideas. Must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time

Potential pay for this position ranges from $217,000.00 - $369,000.00 based on experience and skills.
