The Role

We're looking for a strategic, results-driven, mission-oriented and emotionally intelligent Head of People to lead the small-but-mightly People team. As a seasoned HR leader, you'll bring interpersonal savvy, curiosity, and sound judgment to support the development of high-performing, inclusive, and engaged teams at Lark.

This role is a critical force in shaping the culture of our company, helping us scale our impact while looking out for the well-being of the team. You'll be the go-to partner and advisor for leadership, coaching, and supporting them through growth and the occasional tough conversation.

As the most senior People leader, you'll oversee the full strategy and execution of all People programs, policies, and systems. You are both people-focused and operationally minded, finding a balance between efficiency and empathy.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and cultivate strong partnerships with senior leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy
  • Advise, guide, and coach leaders at all levels within Lark to navigate the complexities of managing teams on topics including organizational effectiveness, employee development, conflict management, and communication
  • Partner with leaders and their teams to establish and execute a consistent people strategy and plan
  • Direct company-wide HR programs and initiatives
  • Advise business leaders on HR policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions
  • Manage complex employment relations issues in partnership with Legal
  • Detail-oriented, proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive to success multiple concurrent projects by analyzing data and driving sound decision-making
  • Lead the strategy for and guide the execution of all People initiatives

What You’ll Need

  • Experience supporting both private technology-based companies, with experience in healthcare a plus
  • Strong proven leadership skills and experience leading the People function
  • A track record of providing HR consultation to senior leadership on business initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including influencing and the ability to encourage innovation
  • Highly collaborative work style. Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams as both a lead and a supporting team member.
  • Experience managing a company through transitional phases
  • A background and experience working within a matrixed organization
  • Ability to fly high and fly low in all facets of human resources

Working at Lark

Lark operates as a remote organization, requiring all employees to reside within the United States. The specific salary offered to a candidate will depend on various factors, including their location, job level, and verified job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for additional compensation, such as participation in a bonus program and stock awards, where applicable.

Compensation Range: $203.4K - $272.3K
