Primary Purpose
Provides public-health consultation, training, and development services to client. Develops and implements education, communication, and technical materials for healthcare facilities to understand and submit healthcare associated prevention and therapeutic data to a national surveillance system. Provides direct end-user support and technical assistance, performs quality-improvement testing of the surveillance system’s data entry and generated reports, and leverages public-health knowledge to provide actionable insights.

A Successful Candidate Will Do The Following
- Develop and/or update trainings, project updates, and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and partners on the work of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
- Provide direct end-user education and technical assistance
- Test application(s); provide feedback to software developers and quality-assurance technicians
- Develop business requirements; communicate clients’ needs to business and technical resources
- Update and/or develop educational and informative training materials and end-products including Word documents and PowerPoint presentations
- Support troubleshooting of technical problems with end users or groups
- Collaboratively implement programmatic activities for public health
- Interpret and explain basic analytic methodologies and results to end users
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health or other health-science field and four (4) years of relevant work experience or Bachelor’s degree in public health or other health-science field and six (6) years of relevant work experience
- Experience with public-health surveillance systems and a demonstrated understanding of key principles and practices of surveillance
- Ability to effectively communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage various deadlines and priorities
- Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation
- Experience using CDC NHSN data or working with NHSN
- Familiarity with CDC and/or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for submitting NHSN data
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Demonstrated ability to work in a distributed, team-oriented, and collaborative environment with federal partners and other federal contractors
