Position Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Remote Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure the quality and compliance of our operational processes, documentation, and patient care standards. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance programs and initiatives. You will collaborate with various departments to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies. This position requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement QA Programs: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal guidelines.

Conduct Audits and Reviews: Plan, conduct, and document internal audits and reviews of various operational areas, including patient records, clinical processes, documentation, and adherence to protocols.

Identify and Analyze Quality Issues: Identify, investigate, and analyze quality issues, errors, and deviations. Determine root causes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Develop Corrective Action Plans: Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive action plans to address identified quality deficiencies.

Monitor and Track Quality Metrics: Establish and monitor key quality metrics and indicators to track performance, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.

Prepare Quality Reports: Prepare comprehensive and accurate quality assurance reports, summarizing audit findings, identified issues, implemented actions, and overall quality performance.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, NCQA), and ensure organizational compliance.

Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Develop and Deliver Training: Develop and deliver training materials and programs on quality assurance principles, policies, and procedures to staff members.

Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of quality assurance activities, audits, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up.

Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives to enhance patient safety, operational efficiency, and overall quality of care.

Support Accreditation and Certification Processes: Assist with preparation for accreditation surveys and certification processes by ensuring documentation and processes meet required standards.

Stay Informed of Best Practices: Continuously research and stay informed of best practices and emerging trends in healthcare quality assurance.

Qualifications:

Work Permit/Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit allowing employment in the United States.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in quality assurance within a healthcare setting. Experience in a specialized medical group or similar environment is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations: Thorough understanding of relevant federal, state, and local healthcare laws, regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and accreditation standards.

Auditing Skills: Proven experience in conducting internal audits and developing audit plans and reports.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate quality-related information to diverse audiences.

Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote environment.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team.

Proficiency in Technology: Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and quality management software is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred): Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or other relevant quality assurance certifications are a plus.
