Billing Specialist I primary responsibilities are to record all transactions of Clients, prepare invoices for claim submission, payment, follow-up and reconcile all Account Receivable.

Educational Requirements

2+ years' experience as a medical biller or similar role.

Experience Required

  • Solid Knowledge and understanding of Billing Concepts,Medical Terminology, Behavioral Health Billing, and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office -Excel and Word.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit billing data to all 3rd party payers through our Billing System.
  • Reconcile Data and correct errors for Batch Submission.
  • Accurate Data Entry of all client/patient information.
  • Post Payments from all 3rd party payers & Self Pay Clients, Follow-up on Missed Payments, also resolve any payment discrepancies.
  • Collect and Review referrals/Authorizations.
  • Insurance Verification/Eligibility, update Billing Header.
  • Handle all balance calls from Clients & Front desk regarding Billing Inquiries
  • Process Rejected Claims from all platforms, correct for re-submission.
  • Investigate and Appeal Denied Claims.
  • Analyze and work Aging Accounts Receivable Reports.
  • Maintain EHR/Billing System by updating rate changes & fee schedule.
  • Resolve All Billing Issues and disputes by contacting insurance companies.
