Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Description

• Serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for government IT systems.
• Develop and implement security controls in compliance with NIST 800-53.
• Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability management.
• Support incident response and cybersecurity investigations.
• Develop and maintain system security plans (SSPs) and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and FISMA requirements.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security solutions across enterprise environments.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security.
• Hands-on experience with security assessment and authorization (SA&A) processes.
• Experience implementing NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
• CISSP or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
• NIST RMF certification.
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
• Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
  
  

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

• This position is contingent upon future contract award to Gunnison Consulting Group.
  
  

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
