The Director of National Accounts is responsible for the planning and implementation of marketing strategies, sales volume, programs, and promotions targeted at key retail accounts including Walmart, Michael’s, and Hobby Lobby. The focus is on achieving and exceeding volume, profitability, and customer service objectives. You will identify customer needs and business opportunities within the account - and develop programs targeted to effectively place additional products. You will also play a role in the development of new products by providing data, consumer input and creative insight regarding market preference and trends on products to be considered for design, development, and introduction.

You will identify customer needs and business opportunities within the account - and develop programs targeted to effectively place additional products. You will also play a role in the development of new products by providing data, consumer input and creative insight regarding market preference and trends on products to be considered for design, development, and introduction.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain an effective direct relationship with Key Retail Buying and Replenishment Teams while creating long term business relationships and fostering a sustainable competitive advantage
- Optimize the company's competitive position and continually evolve the business strategy to profitably achieve or exceed sales plan.
- Ensure retailer needs are met without compromising the defined market channel strategy. Present and sell products appropriate to individual retailers as defined within strategy guidelines.
- Render high-level, strategic presentations to retailers as a means to procure chain-wide distribution of products.
- Prepare and submit forecasts internally to ensure the delivery of the appropriate products in a timely and efficient manner to achieve volume objectives while meeting budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain a long-term planning timeline to ensure execution of promotional plans and new modulars.
- Maintain effective and timely internal communication with key stakeholders to ensure adjustments to customer strategies are understood and available resources aligned efficiently.
- Understand and communicate internally, retail timelines and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the product offering to optimize sales efforts and guarantee customer-focused, fact-based selling
- Manage, travel to, and attend all required sales meetings including line reviews, tradeshows, and other required events
- Consistently achieve sales goals and profitability while operating within budgetary constraints to contribute to the overall profitability of the company.
- Develop and recommend annual budget requirements to maximize profit levels within the area of responsibility.
- Develop and achieve accurate rolling sales forecasts to optimize production planning and minimize excess inventory.
- Continuously seek profitability optimization initiatives with the customer
- Within the scope of responsibility respond to and assist with keeping customer deductions to a minimum and influence customer compliance with payment terms.

- Typical office environment
- 20% travel
- Bachelors degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of skills and experience. MBA an advantage, but not necessary.
- Minimum of five years' experience years developing and growing sales across category retailers including Walmart, Michael’s, and Hobby Lobby
- Must also be skilled at working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Must also have a solid history of bottom-line, results driven orientation.
- Proficient in using presentation software to create dynamic and compelling presentations.
- Professionally developed business acumen a must.
- Must be intimately familiar with retail portals, systems and technologies in addition to item setup, maintenance, and SEO as it pertains to in-store and online sales pipelines
- Experience in understanding financial statements, retail scorecards, point-of-sale data, and retail metrics
