Full timeAs an Underwriter – Individual Insurance, you analyze, assess risks, and authorize life, critical illness, and disability insurance files where appropriate, offering informed and competitive decisions to our customers in all the company's business lines. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Analyze a risk, identify key details, and write a summary of the elements that impact the risk involved
- Maintain positive relationships and act in partnership with customers, underwriters, and other partners through different means of communication
- Participate in the development of apprenticeship staff and help achieve the sector's priorities and objectives
- Establish the rate of excess mortality or morbidity by consulting the company's different sources of reference
- Write various reports, correspondences, recommendations and provide advice in implementing these recommendations
- Collaborate in the search for continuous improvement in relation to activities related to processes and work in collaboration with peers
- Engage in continuous learning, follow industry trends and progress

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Two or more years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge in underwriting for Life insurance is required and, Critical Illness Disability Insurance and Group Insurance, Loans Insurance
- Hold the Professional designation of FLMI, ALU, AALU, or FALU or other relevant designations recognized by the industry
- Advanced knowledge of French a strong asset
- Expert proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking
- Must be located in Canada
