As a Key Account Manager, Small Format you will be responsible for managing and growing strategic convenience retail accounts such as Maverik, Kum & Go, Circle K, and Regional Customers ensuring the successful execution of both distributor execution and promotional activities, while driving key decisions on packaging, pricing, and product placement. This role requires a strong ability to build and maintain relationships, while actively seeking new business opportunities. You will collaborate across various internal teams to ensure seamless execution and deliver results that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Strengthen customer relationships at both national and regional customers, with a focus on both hunting (20%) for new opportunities, and farming (80%) existing accounts to maximize growth
  • Business Planning & Execution: Develop and implement national plans to achieve/exceed sales targets. Collaborate with field/DSD teams to ensure we are maximizing Fill Rates with a target of 90%. Ensure trade investments are smart, measurable, and are monitored through Vividly
  • Business Planning & Analysis: Accurate & timely forecasts for case volume, trade spend, and profitability; analyze retailer and syndicated data (using Circana and VIP) to understand account trends & develop business plans to maximize Liquid Death sales & share; achieve account level sales & profit targets
  • Marketplace Execution: Completing regular field and market engagements to conduct business reviews, market tours, attend buyer meetings, and attend trade shows, etc.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 4+ years of relatable Key Account experience where calling on retail buyers in small format, working directly with a wholesaler, in the CPG industry
  • Advanced presentation skills (both creating slides and presenting)
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams (Operations, Customer Service, Accounting, Distribution, and Finance) across organizations to achieve results
  • Deep comfort with joining a high growth start up environment
  • Advanced problem solving capability and willingness to work with ambiguity and adaptability to flex to market dynamics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Previous experience with Circana, Vividly, and VIP preferred but not required
  • Must have a valid driver's license & clean motor vehicle record (MVR): with no major violations
  • Safely operate personal vehicle to fulfill work-related duties; this position involves driving a personal vehicle for work-related purposes
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% as needed (for Retailer meetings, distributor meetings, trade shows, etc.)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand in store and sit in a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Ability to carry equipment and product up to 50 lbs.
  • Safely operate personal vehicle to fulfill work-related duties; this position involves driving a personal vehicle for work-related purposes

The typical salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $98,000

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes equity and benefits.
