Working in the GovTech sector for our new brand SOVRA, we are currently looking for a Backend Developer to join our team. As such, the Backend Developer will be proficient in all aspects of software development including implementing requirements, generating documentation, unit testing, troubleshooting, packaging and deploying solutions.

Working in the GovTech sector for our new brand SOVRA, we are currently looking for a Backend Developer to join our team. As such, the Backend Developer will be proficient in all aspects of software development including implementing requirements, generating documentation, unit testing, troubleshooting, packaging and deploying solutions.
What will your main responsibilities look like?
In This Role, You Will Be Led To
- Deliver quality software. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of what you build, from initial requirements reviews and architecture, to development and testing.
- Ensure solid test coverage for the code you write.
- Develop custom software on top of an existing base to meet a client’s specific needs.
- Working in an Agile-Scrum environment, you will be required to collaborate with multiple departments to ensure client specifications are being met.
- Remain knowledgeable of emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
- Well versed in modern architecture and Back-End software design, in JAVA.
- At least 10 years of experience in software development.
- AWS Cloud Platform expertise.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap.
- Experience with the design and implementation of APIs and Microservices.
- Comfortable with large datasets, relational vs. non-relational databases, and SQL Server.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Excellent time-management and communication skills.
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.
- Experience working with platforms that expose APIs and extension points for 3rd-party developers.
- An asset: Experience with ecommerce and/or retail technology products.
