The Site Operations Specialist role contributes to REI’s success by monitoring and optimizing the digital experience through the lens of our customers and members. This position is responsible for the authoring, execution and implementation within the CMS supporting site marketing strategies homepage and landing page content. Coordinating content with features and functionality, as well identifying areas of opportunities for operational efficiencies are the foundation of this role at the Co-op.

The right candidate will possess a passion for ecommerce, is data driven, and customer obsessed. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic environment, deliver on deadlines and work collaboratively with digital and cross-divisional partners. Success will involve building strong partnerships across teams, identifying and upholding process improvements and optimizing conversion for site content. The Site Operations Specialist will partner closely with the Marketing Strategy team, Creative/ UX and Product partners and models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong digital (site) experience planning and project management skills.
  • Experience in content management systems and operations
  • Excellent process development and optimization skills
  • Proven ability to document and communicate processes clearly for individual work as well as cross-functional work
  • Experience working with and drawing insights from data and communicating those insights to partners.


Responsibilities And Qualifications

  • Ensure that placements for site marketing projects are authored, executed and audited effectively and efficiently. This includes coordinating inputs from Merchandising, mapping the digital experience, recommending landing experiences for Marketing channels, building product collections, and auditing both in preview and production mode.
  • Daily site maintenance, including management of collections, banners, page assets, QA of live site assets and answering inquiries from cross divisional partners as it relates to placements on the site.
  • Communicates to team and stakeholders site issues & resolution, site calendar updates and process improvements.
  • Support business goals by managing & executing the digital asset creation in coordination with the project timeline while communicating critical milestones to stakeholders and partners
  • Partner with Digital Merchandising team to understand the product point of view, stock position and other information that may influence content and merchandising efforts.
  • Continuous oversight of operating practices and procedures, determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate.
  • Work with project managers, digital creative, and marketing to manage daily site maintenance
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to technical and business issues.
  • Develop and distribute standard performance recaps for site marketing experiences
  • Use analytics to provide business insights for presentation, shopping path optimization and site functionality requests for site marketing experiences. Plan, analyze and respond to changing business needs.
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy while working in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.




Required Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in an online retailing environment.
  • Experience in content management systems and digital content publishing
  • Project Management experience with projects involving multiple teams and disciplines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven business
  • Experience developing, documenting and optimizing processes, involving multiple teams and disciplines
  • Preferred web analytics experience including a solid understanding of web metrics, testing methodology and optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of key merchandising and marketing business principles specific to eCommerce.
  • Preferred experience with digital analytics tools such as Tableau, Sigma, Adobe Analytics.
  • Understanding of project management tools (Workfront, Monday.com)
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate with all areas of REI and influence others in a collaborative work environment.
  • Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
  • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.
  • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.

Pay Range

$72,900.00 - $116,800.00 per year
