Role OverviewCompass Surgical Partners is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead healthcare partnerships. This role is a key driver of our growth strategy, focusing on ambulatory surgery center (ASC) joint ventures, physician partnerships, and market expansion.
We are looking for a dynamic, relationship-focused professional with a strong background in healthcare business development, investment banking, medical sales, or corporate partnerships. If you have experience securing joint ventures, developing physician relationships, and driving new market opportunities, we encourage you to apply.
We are particularly interested in candidates based in Florida or with sales experience in the Florida healthcare market, but we welcome applicants from other regions as well. This is a remote role based in the U.S. and requires 30-50% travel.
Key ResponsibilitiesPartnership Development & Market Expansion
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of physician and hospital partnerships.
- Identify high-opportunity regions through market analysis and lead expansion efforts.
- Lead in-person and virtual meetings with physician groups and hospital executives to drive interest and deal momentum.
Relationship Building & Syndication
- Establish trust with key physicians and secure high syndication rates in new ASCs.
- Deliver compelling pitches to gain physician and hospital partner commitments.
- Maintain ongoing engagement with physician partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Deal Structuring & Execution
- Negotiate and structure joint venture partnerships that align with financial and strategic goals.
- Ensure smooth deal progression from lead identification to signed agreements.
- Strengthen relationships with hospital systems for repeat partnerships and long-term collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure smooth deal execution and post-deal integration.
- Provide leadership with consistent updates on pipeline progress and market insights.
- Align business development efforts with company-wide growth initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in business development, healthcare partnerships, investment banking, private equity, medical sales, or corporate development.
- Proven track record of closing joint ventures and expanding into new markets.
- Strong negotiation skills with expertise in structuring complex partnerships.
- Ability to engage physicians, hospital executives, and other key stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market opportunities and deal economics.
Preferred:
- 7-10 years of experience with a focus on market expansion, physician partnerships, or healthcare sales.
- Exposure to private equity-backed healthcare organizations.
- Background in ASC development, healthcare M&A, or financial modeling.
- Strong industry network in healthcare business development.
