cloud architect (contract)

The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and secure Azure cloud solutions, with a focus on platform engineering and internal developer platforms (IDPs). This role also includes leading tenant-to-tenant integrations, ensuring seamless transitions and infrastructure reliability, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering

• Design and implement robust Azure-based cloud architectures that are scalable, highly available, and resilient.
• Build and manage internal developer platforms (IDPs) to support modern software delivery and DevOps pipelines.
• Lead tenant-to-tenant integration efforts, including secure and efficient data migration with minimal downtime.
  
  

Infrastructure & Automation

• Architect and manage Azure services including compute, networking, storage, and security layers.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, or Ansible.
• Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, secure, and repeatable software delivery.
  
  

Security, Compliance & Optimization

• Enforce cloud security protocols and ensure systems adhere to organizational compliance standards.
• Monitor performance, cost, and reliability of systems, and apply optimizations where necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure needs and propose scalable solutions.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, primarily on Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Proven experience in platform engineering and building internal developer platforms.
• Experience leading and executing tenant-to-tenant integration and data migration.
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Familiarity with DevOps best practices and agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience integrating enterprise security solutions in cloud infrastructure.
