Our organization
The National Diabetes Trust is Canada’s largest charitable clothing and small household good collection service. With more than 5,000 donations bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada.
Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada. As an employee on the National Diabetes Trust team, you are part of our national coverage in 2,500 communities, with 28 operations and 100 trucks. About The Associate, Government & Strategic Partnerships Role
Reporting Directly to Director, Business Development and working daily with the National Manager, Government & Strategic Partnerships, the Associate, Government & Strategic Partnerships supports the Government & Strategic Partnerships team by having a thorough understanding of municipal and provincial law and regulations, data management, and customer (government and or corporate partners) follow up and support.

About The Associate, Government & Strategic Partnerships Role

Highlights Of This Role Include
- Play an active role in the support of the government and corporate strategy to increase textile collections and grow revenues
- Work with Government & Strategic Partnerships team to maintain and build relationships with municipal and corporate partners to increase textile collections and grow revenues
- Research municipal and corporate sustainability trends that impact textile collection and revenue growth
- Understand local laws and regulations to support government strategy
- Preparation of bylaws and licensing documents as required
- Data entry into municipal and corporate relationships database
- Preparation and Distribution of Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly
- Reporting for Corporate and Government Agency Partners
- Help coordinate and participates with the rest of the Government & Strategic Partnerships team in representing NDT at seminars, conferences, and workshops
- Support Government & Strategic Partnerships team to help resolve conflict for NDT specific to textile diversion
- Provide administration support for the Government & Strategic Partnerships team
- Attend internal and external meetings as required
- Support BD Sales team when needed
- Additional duties as required ensuring the effective operation of the NDT Business Development function
- Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent relevant experience
- 3-5 years in Sales, Marketing, or related discipline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Fully computer literate in Microsoft Office, most especially, word, excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, energetic team player
- Ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team
- Organized, self-disciplined and professional in demeanor
