Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

6 months contract (Remote, preference for British Columbia residents)

Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a project team, clinical registry leads, and staff in delivering key project objectives. The primary focus is on designing, testing, and implementing a data reconciliation solution to minimize manual data entry for HIM coders, enabling timely access to critical health data across multiple systems.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

• Lead workshops to gather business requirements, identify use cases, and document pain points.
• Develop current-state business process workflows, data flows, and system integration diagrams.
• Collect, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements.

Application Design & Development

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define key application functionalities and use cases.
• Work with the Solution Architect to document key design decisions and align them with business objectives.
• Develop future-state workflows and integration diagrams based on proposed application design.
• Support troubleshooting and refinement of requirements in collaboration with the Solution Architect.

Data Validation & Testing

• Develop and present a detailed data validation and testing plan.
• Extract, transform, and stage data for validation.
• Write and execute SQL queries to compare source and target datasets.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot data mismatches and anomalies.
• Revise data mapping and transformation rules as needed.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate feedback resolution.
• Work with the Solution Architect to address and resolve defects.

Support & Sustainment

• Develop support and sustainment models, including escalation process diagrams and knowledge base documentation.
• Create standard operating procedures for onboarding new stakeholders.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop an evaluation framework with key performance indicators.
• Conduct post-implementation evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
• Document lessons learned and make recommendations for future project phases.

Roadmap & Expansion

• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Solution Architect, and stakeholders to gather and document feature requests.
• Assist in developing an application roadmap for expansion across additional sites.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare IT projects.
• Strong background in application design, configuration, and database management.
• Experience overseeing solution lifecycles from feasibility analysis to post-implementation support.
• Expertise in eliciting, documenting, and managing complex business, technical, and functional requirements.
• Proven experience with application testing, data validation, and SQL.
• Understanding of relational databases.
• Knowledge of data transformation, ETL processes, integration protocols, APIs, and data modeling.
• Ability to navigate and deliver results within large, complex organizations.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with ETL scripting and database schema design (preferred).
• Prior experience with FHIR standards (a strong asset).
