About the workplace

Vancity is looking for a talented individual with strong administrative, technical and fund accounting skills to perform the fund accounting and administration work related to VCIM’s pooled funds to manage and grow our business while mitigating risk. With your natural problem-solving capabilities and organization skills, you will work as part of a team running the day-to-day fund accounting functions, in service of this organization and its members.

This is a full-time, permanent role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and partially from your Lower Mainland based home office. In addition to work, periodically you’ll be requested to attend in-person activities or events.

The Role: Fund Accounting and Admin VCIM

A typical day would involve:

  • Operate and maintain the Accounting Book of Record (ABOR) system used to perform the fund accounting and administration workflows
  • Perform all daily, periodic and annual NAV, distribution, fee calculation and reporting workflows to support the VCIM pooled fund operating activities
  • Generate, audit and publish VCIM pooled fund financial statements internally and externally through SEDAR+
  • Validate and publish VCIM pooled fund tax reporting and support tax reclaim processing
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the launch and retirement of new and existing products as required
  • Participating in projects and initiatives involving multi-disciplinary teams

You have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Fund Accounting and Administration
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, financial statements, tax filing and reporting
  • Strong relationship management skills while working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and competing priorities
  • A working knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures and policies governing this work
  • Willingness to pursue external continuous learning opportunities to advance knowledge in fund accounting and administration and/or obtain relevant accounting certifications (for example, CPA)

The Team: Fund Accounting and Admin VCIM will report to the Head of Trading and Operations

The salary range for the role is $64,500 to $96,500 The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
