About the Role:
As the People Operations (PeopleOps) Coordinator at Practice Better, you will be instrumental in supporting the People Operations function within our dynamic, scaling organization. You’ll be the key player behind the scenes, driving employee experience and operational efficiency. Your efforts will help ensure our employees are well-equipped, engaged, and supported throughout their time at Practice Better. What You’ll Do:
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Lead seamless employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a smooth experience for all by working closely with various departments and other teams to ensure an easy transition.
- People Programs: Support key people programs, including performance reviews, employee surveys (eNPS), and other employee engagement initiatives.
- Cultural Initiatives: Collaborate with the Head of People Operations to enhance and promote our cultural programs (social programming, benefits, perks, etc.).
- DEI&B: Create the most inclusive experience for our employees, arranging regular company wide events, fostering a company culture that is inclusive, respectful and transparent, ensuring policies and practices are written from a lens of diversity and equity.
- Employee Resource Management: Maintain the people section of our internal company wiki culture and infrastructure, providing support for any questions or resource needs.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee day-to-day maintenance of our benefits plans for both US and Canada.
- Employee Engagement: Oversee weekly updates and host engaging team meetups to foster a connected and collaborative workplace culture. Manage recognition efforts, including coordinating thoughtful gifts for work anniversaries and birthdays, to celebrate team members and enhance morale.
- People Data & Operations: Partner with the Head of People Operations to build out and operationalize people data functions as the company scales.
- Employee Communication: Communicate People-related updates, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely communication to employees across the organization.
- Team Support: Assist the People Operations team as needed in various projects and tasks to ensure smooth execution of all People initiatives. You’ll be flexible in stepping in where needed, providing support across the broader People Ops function. Support employee inquiries and ad-hoc requests related to people operations
Who You Are:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in a Generalist or People Operations role, preferably within a scaling organization in the technology industry.
- You are passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
- You are tech savvy, able to use tools such as BambooHR, Lattice, Humi, Notion, Slack with ease.
- You possess a good understanding of Canadian employment law.
- You have a growth mindset, are naturally curious, and are eager to learn and develop within the People function.
- You thrive in environments with a high degree of accountability and autonomy, and you take initiative.
- You have a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork and enjoy working cross-functionally.
- You embrace change and ambiguity, and are always ready to step in and take action.
- You’re someone who enjoys going above and beyond and will always look for ways to improve processes and drive impact.
What You’ll Learn and Achieve:
- Within 1 month: You’ll become a Practice Better expert—familiarizing yourself with our team, platform, policies, and current practices.
- Within 3 months: You’ll identify an area of opportunity, propose a solution, and successfully implement your first major win.
- Within 6 months: You’ll become the go-to person for all People-related activities. You will be the person everyone turns to for support and information.
