Software Engineer I - Continuous Integration Team

We are looking for a Software Engineer I to join the Continuous Integration team. You will help build and maintain the tooling that all Engineers at Marqeta use to build and test their code. You will work on tasks with other engineers on the team to build new features, fix bugs, and measure the success of your changes.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely within the United States. We’d love for you to join us!

The Impact You’ll Have

• Develop and deliver high-quality production-ready code with assistance.
• Execute defined tasks and tickets prepared by more senior engineers.
• Contribute to designs of new features
• Build dashboards to analyze the impact of your work.
• Participate in core processes of the team (planning, on-call rotations, bug triage, metrics review, etc).
  
  

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, 2+ years of relevant experience may suffice.
• Understanding of programming and the ability to write code.
• Receptivity to feedback, self-aware, and committed to producing work of high quality.
• Ability to complete tasks on time in collaboration with others.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, take ownership, and ask questions.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and respectful manner both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated respect towards others, with a positive and open-minded approach.
  
  

Nice-To-Haves

• Experience developing in Go, Java or Python, however we welcome experience in other programming languages.
• Experience with Microservices.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
• Experience with cloud computing. We use AWS, but welcome other cloud experience.
• Experience with cloud monitoring tools like DataDog.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position, reflected in CAD, is: 76,300 - 95,400.
