Job Description:

Position: Senior Strategic Finance Manager

The Senior Strategic Finance Manager will report directly to the VP of Finance at PYXiS, with a dotted line to the Portfolio Manager of Group B. This multifaceted role demands hands-on management of the day-to-day finance operations coupled with strong business acumen. The incumbent will ensure that all financial practices align with statutory regulations and legislation to maintain the integrity of financial information and reporting, whilst collaborating closely with the Portfolio’s operational leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

Operational finance improvement:

• Work directly with the 5 CEOs of the five businesses in Group B:
• Evaluate operational systems and staffing levels, address inefficiencies, and provide the Portfolio Manager with recommendations for improvements to policies and procedures for organizational effectiveness.
• Create and implement processes for sustainable improvements in business process efficiency.
• Drive improvement of working capital management throughout the business.
  

Support Acquisition Activity:

• Lead the financial integration process and support the delivery of investment objectives.
• Assist in valuation, planning, and deal negotiation.
• Assist in the preparation of Purchase Price Accounting for new acquisitions.
  
  

Business requirements, trends and variances:

• Identify and investigate variances against plans and forecasts, providing analysis and exploring potential solutions with the leadership team.
• Direct revenue analysis, P&L monitoring, planning, and forecasting, reviewing business performance against forecasts and assisting senior management with analysis and future action plans.
  
  

Financial planning and reporting:

• Analyze and communicate financial results, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions for accurate monthly management accounting and balance sheet reporting.
• Support and challenge business leaders' plans and forecasts as part of the quarterly forecasting process.
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• CPA qualification.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills.
• People management, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Project management skills.
• Strong Excel modeling, data interrogation, and reconciliation skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS in a complex multi-deliverable environment is an asset.
• Experience in the software or high-tech industry is an asset.
• Proven experience at a Senior Management level in a business or finance environment.
• Proven ability to direct a diverse group of professionals in accomplishing complex tasks.
• Exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is desirable.
• Sound understanding of contracting terms and conditions and the assessment of commercial risk and implications on accounting treatment.
• Expertise in accounting and management software and their application in a project-based, software engineering environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
