The opportunity: The Product Specialist’s mission is to build understanding of BGO’s applications and their capabilities, and to ensure our best-in-class applications are optimized to drive our global enterprise forward. The Product Specialist is a key contributor to improving business processes and will partner with BGO’s Project Management Office and Development teams along with working closely with our business users to improve application satisfaction and effectiveness, enabling high performing business operations and growth. To excel in the role, the Product Specialist becomes an application expert able to resolve complex questions, partnering with the application’s Product Manager to maintain application configuration and controls as well as supervising support and consulting teams.
The Product Specialist is a member of the Product Management Team, as part of the Business Enablement and Innovation Group at BentallGreenOak (BGO).

The Product Specialist is a member of the Product Management Team, as part of the Business Enablement and Innovation Group at BentallGreenOak (BGO).
What You Will Do
- Enable highly efficient business processes for BGO’s Yardi property management and accounting platform.
- Partner with BGO’s Yardi Product Manager to establish a common vision with our global business operations partners
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, lead the translation of the product strategy into actionable improvements
- Drive product updates / new feature launches. This will include working with our Change Management team, Executives, and other BEI team members
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into executable business requirements.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and / or internal developers to ensure successful issue resolution or enhancement roll out
- In partnership with the system development team, define and implement integrations and develop documentation / data maps
- Create report specifications and test developed reports prior to roll out to the business
- Key contributors to understanding and communicating enhancements to be achieved as part of upgrades.
- Business process improvement
- Develop and continuously improve operational practices
- Update or create documentation to support business workflows and processes
- Update, create, and execute test scripts to support application changes
- In partnership with business system owners, attend vendor demonstrations and user conferences to stay current on system capabilities. Analyze the benefits of new functionality to achieve optimal system use.
- Develop end user relationships and system expertise needed to form strategic partnerships with business teams
- Monitor, evaluate, and coordinate systems and data extracts to support annual compliance engagements
- Implement and enforce BGO global data standards
- Become expert on the data structures within the product. Develop an understanding of data lineage and dependencies with BGO’s application inventory.
- Support the Data Governance team by executing BGO data standards; maintain application master data tables and integration points across BGO systems
- System administration and support
- Partner with Product Manager to administer system and implement controls as needed
- Ensure timely resolution of business issues; scope and prioritize activities based on business impact
- Monitor application and integration performance; oversee issue resolution when necessary
- Embrace and proactively support BGO’s culture of environmental responsibility and social responsibility
- Special and ad-hoc projects, as assigned
- Education/Experience
- Experience using or providing supporting the Yardi platform.
- 2 to 5 years of experience performing product analysis, consulting, or business analysis
- 2 to 5 years using or implementing accounting, business process, property management, or other real estate software.
- Language – Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Demonstrated experience with the Yardi property management and accounting platform
- Experience supporting Yardi Residential users is highly desired
- Proven ability to solve difficult business process issues with diplomacy
- Ability to understand data structure and dependencies; ability to document data flows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to clearly and succinctly document business requirements, create report mockups, and other documentation in support of issue resolution and/or enhancement roll outs
- Ability to interact with diverse functional groups, including technical staff, senior management and third parties
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Excel VBA proficiency highly desired
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Police Clearance: A criminal verification check is required for employment.
