About Private Investment Operations (PIO)
PIO plays a crucial role in the settlement of capital funding and distribution transactions, quarterly market value updates, monthly reporting, and the preparation of IFRS financial statements for private investments. These investments span private equity, infrastructure, renewable resources, private debt and hedge funds.
Note: This is a 4-month full-time term from May 2025 through August 2025.
If you are a success-motivated student, you will be able to reflect on your time on the PIO team and be proud of how much you learned and grew as an aspiring professional. You will deliver near error-free reports and develop a reasonable understanding of complex accounting procedures. You will learn about problem solving and be expected try to solve your own issues before seeking guidance from your team members.

- Process invoices and assist in the settlement of investment transactions.
- Conduct bank and various investment reconciliations, as well as handle ad-hoc accounting or operational tasks.
- Update the market value of fund investments in SimCorp Dimension on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Apply accounting principles and analyze financial data received directly from investments, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment.
- Assist in the execution of projects under the guidance of senior team members.
- Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and establish standard operating procedures for the financial reporting of property activities.
- Maintain the filing system and provide support to the PIO analysts as required.
- Completion of third year undergraduate studies in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to details and an ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Quick and adaptable learner.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Previous bookkeeping and/or accounting experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles, including
- International Financial Reporting Standards and Canadian GAAP (ASPE) are an asset.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, prepare financial reports, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on information presented.
