Overview

FedWriters is building a team to operate OJP's Response Center and Library Services, providing high-quality information assistance through a customer service center, virtual library database, and research services to support justice system professionals and the public. As a Reference Librarian, you will provide reference services and research assistance to OJP staff and grantees using specialized databases and online resources.

This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm Eastern Time and may occasionally need to attend in-person meetings, briefings, or coordination sessions at OJP headquarters in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive reference services using specialized research tools
  • Deliver targeted library instruction and research guidance
  • Navigate and search professional reference databases for information requests
  • Utilize diverse online reference sources to support research needs
  • Implement citation management software to organize research materials

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Library Science and 3 years reference service and instruction experience OR a Bachelor's degree in related field (education, English literature, etc.) and 8 years experience (3 years reference service +5 years substituting for a Master's degree)
  • A broad background in literature, social sciences, the humanities, and/or sciences.
  • Must have experience with reference databases, online reference sources, and citation management software.
