What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Abstract, analyze, and code clinical data according to appropriate classification systems
• Obtain long-term follow-up data and analyze health records per established standards
• Process, maintain, compile, and report on health information for research and program planning
• Interact effectively with physicians and hospital staff to gather necessary information
• Ensure compliance with licensure and certification requirements within designated timeframes
  
  

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Associate's degree or higher, with coursework specific to healthcare
• Four (4) years of cancer registry experience or CTR certification in lieu of degree
• Less than one (1) year of oncology or tumor registry experience
• Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Certified Tumor Registrar within two (2) years from date of hire or transfer
  
  

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Coursework in Human Anatomy and Physiology or medical terminology
• One (1) year of oncology or tumor registry experience
• Experience with telework arrangements
• Eligibility for Certified Tumor Registrar credential
