As a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer, you won’t just contribute to great user experiences—you’ll lead the charge on UX projects, from concept to execution. This role puts you at the forefront of crafting user experiences that are not only functional but also intuitive, enjoyable, and accessible to all. Your leadership in UX reviews will shape project outcomes, providing essential feedback that ensures our user experiences meet and exceed expectations.


In this role, you will collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, Development, and Project Management teams to define and execute UX strategies that align with client goals. Your ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and deliver innovative solutions will be instrumental in elevating both our projects and the role of UX within We The Collective.


You’ll also play a critical part in advancing the UX discipline at WTC, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that every project you touch leaves a lasting impact.

What You'll Get To Do

Lead and Craft Exceptional User Experiences:

  • Take ownership of UX projects, leading the design process from initial concept to final implementation while ensuring alignment with client goals and briefs.
  • Design user experiences that are seamless, accessible, and enjoyable, delivering value to both clients and their users.
  • Collaborate with Developers to ensure that accessibility standards are met, troubleshooting accessibility challenges and advocating for inclusive design practices.
  • Partner with Designers to provide research-backed recommendations for User Interface direction and ensure a cohesive design approach.

Collaborate:

  • Communicate UX concepts clearly and effectively through wireframes, user flows, content maps, and prototypes.
  • Lead regular UX reviews to refine strategies, ensure quality, and provide actionable feedback to the team.
  • Partner with project managers to identify challenges, meet deadlines, and deliver seamless solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers to align UX decisions with technical requirements, ensuring feasibility and innovation.
  • Design and deliver mockups, prototypes, and final layouts with precision and efficiency.
  • Present and defend your creative decisions confidently to internal teams and client stakeholders, backed by clear rationale and research.

Research, Test, and Innovate:

  • Design and implement research methodologies, including eye-tracking, A/B testing, usability testing, surveys, and focus groups, to uncover actionable insights.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by tracking emerging trends and best practices in user experience and interface design.

Champion UX Excellence and Mentor Growth

  • Advocate for user-centered design by educating colleagues and clients on UX principles, fostering a deeper understanding of their value and impact.
  • Mentor and guide designers and junior team members, sharing industry insights and best practices to elevate their skills and strengthen the team’s overall design capabilities.
  • Lead workshops, presentations, and discussions to embed UX best practices into the design process and ensure user experience remains a central focus across all projects.


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of UX and/or interactive design experience, preferably in an agency setting, with a strong focus on consumer-facing applications, websites, and mobile experiences.
  • A standout portfolio showcasing relevant work, highlighting your process, creative problem-solving, and successful outcomes.
  • Proven ability to translate abstract ideas into practical, user-centred solutions.
  • Expertise in creating wireframes, site maps, user flow diagrams, and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • A working understanding of HTML5, CSS, and CMS platforms, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility principles and user interface design best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting to and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to manage ambiguity with confidence.
  • Adeptness at working in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing time and juggling multiple priorities.
  • Experience handling sensitive information, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.

A senior practitioner’s ability to think strategically enables WTC to deliver solutions very closely aligned with client goals. They often demonstrate success interacting directly with clients, rather than relying upon other members of the team. They also play a significant role in shaping internal strategy and improving processes, usually without prompting. They embody their role in a way that serves as a powerful inspiration for the upcoming generation of senior-level practitioners.
