The Math Curriculum Resource Consultant will work in partnership with the Canadian Sales Director, sales representatives, and content-area managers throughout Canada as a content specialist supporting the sales process from prospecting to product activation for Rubicon, a Savvas Company, products, services, and solutions. They will share expertise in Rubicon’s offerings, pedagogy, and the competitive environment. They will partner directly with the sales teams, product marketing, and management teams to advance Rubicon’s products, services, and solutions in Canada.

The Math Curriculum Resource Consultant will work in partnership with the Canadian Sales Director, sales representatives, and content-area managers throughout Canada as a content specialist supporting the sales process from prospecting to product activation for Rubicon, a Savvas Company, products, services, and solutions. They will share expertise in Rubicon’s offerings, pedagogy, and the competitive environment. They will partner directly with the sales teams, product marketing, and management teams to advance Rubicon’s products, services, and solutions in Canada.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive sales and regional goals by presenting and supporting all types of pre-sale events including pilots, sales presentations/caravans/campaigns, along with high priority activations in key accounts.
- Represent Rubicon as a thought leader in K-12 education, stay current on national and provincial initiatives, and develop relationships with thought leaders.
- Present at local, provincial, regional, and national conferences, as appropriate. Work with the sales director and sales representatives to determine needs and schedule.
- Work with the sales director, sales representatives, and content-area managers to help carry out identified training needs (i.e.) mentoring, coaching, sales presentations, pilots, and activation delivery.
- Can serve as program-specific information liaison to and from the field to these same leaders.
- Work with sales director, sales representatives, and content-area managers on training opportunities for the field. Expert “go-to” person to help answer questions from the field and provide customer feedback.
- Will serve to communicate to and from the field:
- Product needs and development — feedback from the field
- Sales presentations — what works, tweaks, etc.
- Activation workshop materials/agendas — feedback from CS/customers
- Competitive information
- Content area issues and trends
- Collaborate on sales presentation messaging and training, in coordination with the Canadian sales director, sales representatives, and content-area managers.
- May attend product-specific meetings such as product management, marketing, training and development to represent sales, activation, CS field, and virtual needs.
- Collaborate on activation materials development and training as directed. Works with development at the start of the project, advises on interim strategies for the field, helps to organize field implementation specific to province.
- Collaborate with sales director, sales representatives, and content-area managers in other areas concerning issues, trends, and solutions regarding sales, activation delivery, upselling strategies, competition, etc. Has knowledge of these areas to lead the rest of the field team and support their needs.
- Collaborate with all leadership teams (Sales and Product) to help create pilot strategy and ongoing pilot calendar and training plans.Coach teachers to apply the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the resources.
- Model coaching conversations to provide effective teacher feedback.
- Differentiate instruction based on teacher/student needs.
- Coach and model the instructional features of the resources.
- Observe classroom practices following professional learning to identify implementation progress of the key instructional features of the resources.
- Provide teachers with critical feedback to guide implementation progress of the key instructional features of the resources.
Education
- B.A degree required.
- Master’s degree in content area preferred.
- Must possess a deep understanding of math content area and trends in Canadian education market
- Academic experience and or training in K-12 education with proven expertise in the area of mathematics education.Experience in networking with high-level district administrators and decision-makers. Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is desirable.
- Ability to have pointed conversations with school district experts in the specified content area.
- Strong presentation and communication skills – verbal and written.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver winning presentations in large and small group high-stakes presentations.
- Highly skilled in persuasion, argumentation, and influencing experts and decision-makers in specific content areas.
- Ability to plan strategically with school leaders and classroom teachers.
- Ability to provide instructional support related to effective teaching strategies for teachers across content areas using instructional technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Fast learning curve in gaining knowledge of new and existing product lines.
- Comfortable with the use of technology and ability to quickly grasp and present Savvas Learning Company technology solutions.
- Must be able and willing to travel up to 50%.

- This person must be able to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading as well as when presenting.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and operate in a demanding work environment is important.
- Must be able to travel up to 50%.
